Sandro Vannini photographer

Sandro Vannini was born in Rome in 1959 and lives in Viterbo. He is a professional photographer from 1980. His work is essentially linked to illustration image, geographic and ethnographic reportage (with particular attention to human activities occurring in difficult environmental conditions), architecture, archeology, portraits and visual arts. He is a free lance photographer and collaborates to the main magazines dealing with geography, environment, travels and tourism, visual arts. He has been working with Istituto Geografico De Agostini since 1984. From 1992 and 1996 he has worked to the production of a project published by Bertelsmann Group (Germany) under the support of UNESCO on World Heritage. The most important magazines he has been working to are: Airone, Atlante, Viaggi nel Mondo, Bell'Italia, Bell'Europa, Abenteuer und Reisen, Alpin Bergwelt, Weekend Viaggi, Oasis, Arte, Tuttoturismo, Meridiani, Il venerdì di Repubblica, D La Repubblica delle Donne, Modus Vivendi, Nuova Ecologia, Dove, I Viaggi di Repubblica, Lo Specchio, Traveller, In Viaggio. This site looks at my work, at the different areas where curiosity (or clients) led me over time. It is difficult to divide it up into precise sectors, and, personally, I've never believed that, as a photographer, I have a real specialization. Simply, some issues interest me more than others. However, in order to provide some order, the section "activities" is subdivided according to topics, with significant pictures for each subject. The section "archive" gives you access to a data base with the description of all available pictures, while "news" presents the latest works.
